Meet the Board
John Halstead, BSc (Econ) - Chair
John spent thirty years lecturing at the University of Sheffield where he taught History and Economics. Previously he was a Civil Servant where he gained experience of public accounting and legal matters, including official representation at private bill committees in the Houses of Parliament.
Chan Kataria, BSc (Hons), FCIH, MBA
Chan is Group Chief Executive. He has held numerous positions at senior level in both the housing association and local authority sectors since 1985. He is a former Chair of the National Housing Federation in the East Midlands and a member of the steering group of housing association alliance PlaceShapers.
Janet Beaumont
Janet worked in local government for 32 years until 2008, including as Chief Executive at Local Government East Midlands, a not-for-profit association representing the 46 local authorities in the East Midlands. She now provides HR and improvement support services to the public sector and is part-time director of a European-level public service partnership.
Maggie Bodell-Stagg
Maggie is a former deputy leader of Leicester City Council, and was Lord Mayor for the city in 2002/2003. She has voluntary and professional experience of dealing with hostels and homelessness in organisations such as the Salvation Army and Adullam Homes.
Heather Fawbert, BA (Hons)
Heather is Chief Executive of Fairplay and also a qualified youth and community worker. She has worked with children and young people with disabilities and their families for over 20 years. She is the Chair of NDVA, a voluntary sector organisation offering support throughout Derbyshire in the health and social care field.
Mohammed Saeed (Sid) Jeewa, MSc, BSc (Hons)
Sid is a freelance disability equality consultant and trainer and works in the commercial, public and voluntary sectors to implement the social model of disability and inclusion. He has personal experience of disability and has worked in the equality and diversity field since 1995.
Marianne Skelcher
A former Deputy Chair of a large London-based social housing group with a substantial supported housing portfolio, Marianne has significant experience in housing, social care, and health. She is a chartered director and a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and runs her own consultancy providing organisation development and executive coaching services.
Governance
